Session
My Christmas sessions are 15 minutes long and I will aim to capture various different images for you during that time. This usually involves a mix of posed and candid shots.
These sessions are aimed towards younger children however, I'm more than happy to capture a family photo for you. Due to the backdrop size I am unfortunately unable to accommodate large groups. Babies should ideally be able to sit unaided or be safely held by an older sibling.
FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
Your session includes three professionally edited digital images. Images can be chosen from an on-line gallery which will be sent out 1-2 weeks following your shoot. There is the option to purchase additional images as follows:
Additional image (£7.50)
5 digital images (£25)
All your digital images (£50)
You also have the option to purchase prints directly via your gallery.
What if we are unwell?
I know life doesn't always go according to plan. Especially where children are concerned. If you are unwell please contact me and we can discuss rescheduling. I will always try to be as fair as possible and accommodate you on another day.
I politely request that you do not attend your session if you or a member of your party are unwell or have a fever
What do we need to bring?
Yourselves and a smile. You do not need to bring anything though you are welcome to bring some festive hats and props if you would like. I will have some available for your use during the session.
A word on health & safety
I take health and safely extremely seriously and aim to provide all my clients with an enjoyable experience. For this reason, I can only allow children onto the set if they are calm and controlled. I appreciate that the set looks inviting and fun but please refrain your children from running, jumping and touching the props. This not only poses an injury risk to them but it messes up the set for the next family. For this reason, If I feel your child is endangering themself or causing disruption to the set I will ask you to remove them until they have calmed down. I thank you for your understanding on this matter.
How should we dress?
It is important you feel comfortable and your clothing reflects you. Loose clothing works better than tight fitting clothing. Think little girls twirling around in a dress.
It looks nice if families are coordinated but you don't need to be matching. It is best to avoid wearing very bright colours, and tops with bold patterns, lettering or pictures on the front as this can be very distracting in photos. Christmas jumpers and outfits are fine. Red, navy and tartan dresses work well for girls. Jeans and jumper work well for boys.
What if we're not comfortable infront of the camera?
My aim is to give you an enjoyable and relaxed session and capture natural and candid photos. Children especially may be reluctant to sit still and look at a camera so don't worry if they prefer to stay active. We can use ways to get their attention. Enjoy having some quality time together, chat to your children and leave the rest to me!
What else could help our session?
Little ones can be unpredictable. If it is their first experience of having a photo shoot they may feel a little apprehensive or even scared. In this case you could tell them you're going to meet a friend and have a play with some new toys. If your child feels nervous and doesn't want to look at the camera please don't worry. I will use techniques to help them feel relaxed, bring out their personality and get those smiles. If your child has special needs or you would prefer a SEN session please give me a call and I'd be happy to discuss your needs.
Your session will likely run more smoothly if your child is refreshed so book your session to fit around their napping scheduled. High sugar treats are best saved until after the shoot. I provide a little gift for each child so often the sight of these acts as a little incentive.
Please arrive promptly for your session. As sessions are booked back-to-back if you arrive late this will cut into your allocated time and will reduce the time we have to capture your images.
